Seborrheic Dermatitis is skin inflammation that generally affects the scalp. The most common symptom of this problem is the presence of layers of dry flakes that are itchy and cause redness of the skin. There is no exact known cause or cure for Seborrheic Dermatitis. However, the use of medicated shampoo has been found to be effective in reducing the skin inflammation. These shampoos contain anti fungal, anti bacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients that help to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungus, and yeast on the skin and thus control this problem.

The Seborrheic Dermatitis shampoos contain ingredients like salicylic acid, pyrithione zinc, coal tar, sulfur, selenium sulfide, or ketocanozale. These ingredients help to remove the scales from the scalp and prevent the re-formation of these scales. The ingredients also reduce the itching and redness associated with the flakes.

Some Of The Seborrheic Dermatitis Shampoos Are

Even people with colored hair can use the shampoo.

All the above mentioned Seborrheic dermatitis shampoos are effective in reducing the flakes and itching. However, utmost care has to be taken to prevent the shampoo from getting into the eyes. Also, you should rinse your hair properly with water so that there are no residue of shampoo on the scalp, otherwise it may aggravate your problem.
