There is a plethora of information in every corner today about how to stay in shape or 'fit.' Through websites, books, articles, TV, marketing efforts, etc everyone seems to have the newest and best answer to stay fit. New research comes out daily and everyone has their own opinions of how they think they and others should exercise. Don\'t get me wrong, information and education on new ways to stay in shape and keeping your workout routines fresh is a must for everyone. But there is so much information floating around that many people get paralyzed by analysis. Or get so bombarded with information they get overwhelmed and never even start to workout.
So what is the secret? How do people stay in shape, sift through all of the data and information? It is quite simple really. Human physiology is complex, and the varying views of how to best train your body can even be more complex. So why not dumb it down a bit? The secret to staying fit is two fold.
1) Just show up everyday for at least 20 minutes and workout. I know this is easier said than done but just show up, move your body, and keep your exercise routines fresh. Pretty simple right? As you get into your groove and build the habitual habit of working out, then you can crank up the intensity and make your workouts extreme if you wish.
2) Eat a clean diet for 6 days a week. Eat healthy, eat what works for your body 80 of the time, and the rest enjoy whatever kind of food you want. I know there are varying views of what a healthy diet is, but once again eat for what is right for your body.
Hopefully this helps you realize that staying fit is not rocket science or so overwhelming that you cannot navigate through all of the dense information. Just move your body each day and eat right. You will notice as time goes on you are feeling better and want to invest more in your body.
